Will I get to choose the songs Tentrix plays at my wedding reception?

Yes, you are welcome to choose some or all the songs for your wedding reception from the Tentrix song list and if there are particular songs you love that are not on the song list, please ask and wherever possible, Tentrix will be happy to oblige – within reason of course!

Do I have to choose every song?

No, you don’t have to if you don’t want to. Lisa and Marco are highly experienced wedding music specialists, and are able to choose play the right music to suit the flow of the night as it happens – in fact, this is something they are often complemented on. Tentrix suggests if you want to go this way, just let them know if there are any songs in particular from the song list you don’t want played.

What sort of music can Tentrix play?

The simple answer is – pretty much anything! Tentrix plays virtually every style from jazz through to reggae, pop and top 40. With a total of five languages between them, they’ve also incorporated special songs for brides and grooms of different nationalities. Check out the song list for a sample.

How does Tentrix get a full band sound with just two musicians?

The beauty of Tentrix as a duo is the flexibility – Tentrix can play acoustically early in the night for a great jazz/easy listening/cafe del mar effect and then later in the night, they add backing tracks for a fuller sound that’s great for dancing. It’s like having access to a full orchestra of instruments without the added costs, without a need for lots of space, and with full control over the volume. And even better – those backing players never make mistakes!

Will Tentrix play recorded music in the breaks or do I need a DJ?

No need to hire a DJ (unless you specifically want to) - Tentrix is able to accommodate any special requests. They can play your own pre-recorded music in the breaks, or will provide music suitable to the flow of the wedding reception.

Can we use Tentrix’ equipment for speeches?

Absolutely – Tentrix have wireless microphones you are welcome to use for your wedding speeches.

Can Tentrix provide an MC service?

Yes, Tentrix is happy to provide wedding MC services.

How long can Tentrix play for?

However long you need. Minimum call is two hours (from first note played to last) and no maximum. While the average wedding reception is five hours, it’s not unusual for Tentrix to play for seven or eight hours straight!

How many sets will Tentrix play?

Tentrix will structure their playing around the events of the wedding reception (speeches etc), and breaks are kept to the minimum. An average set would be 45 mins out of every hour, but they love to play, so sets will often be longer.

Can I choose special songs for the bridal waltz and other special moments?

Yes, of course. Wherever possible, Tentrix will play your bridal waltz and other special songs live, otherwise a recorded version will be used.

Can guests perform with Tentrix?

Yes, guest performances are welcome, although these need to be coordinated prior to the wedding reception. Tentrix will also happily rehearse any special guest performances.

What does the price cover?

The price is all-inclusive. The performance time (and quoted price) covers a fixed “call” period – meaning from the time of the first note played through to the time of the last note played. Tentrix do not charge extra for setting up, sound checking, or removal of equipment.

Does Tentrix have insurance?

Yes, Tentrix are insured as professional musicians and have full Public Liability Insurance to the value of $20 million.

Can we meet Tentrix before our wedding day?

Absolutely, Lisa and Marco are more than happy to meet up with you prior to the event at a mutually convenient time to get all the details organised. Alternatively, if it’s more convenient, this can be done over the phone.

How do we go about booking Tentrix?

To secure your wedding date, Tentrix requires a $250 booking deposit to be paid via bank deposit or credit card. Final payment must be made at least two weeks prior to your wedding date – you can pay in instalments or one lump sum, it’s up to you.

Yes, although extra costs to apply for wedding receptions outside of metro Sydney - just fill in the contact form and Tentrix will be happy to provide a quote.

Can we see Tentrix play live before we book?
